Yellow EnamelWare Pitcher Geisha Rickshaw Rebus Cartoon and Benvenuto Cellini Salt Cellar

Vintage  Decorated
Yellow and Black Enamel Ware Pitcher
Large 1 Gallon Capacity 12 Inches Tall
One side is decorated with a comical
rebus cartoon of a Geisha girl / bijin
riding in a rickshaw / jinrikisha being
pulled by a peasant man wearing a
conical coolie hat
The rebus in the dialog balloon
consists of the words "GO GO",
the letters SCH, exclamation
points, lightening bolts, asterisks,
stars, a crescent moon and a
bactrian camel.
I don't know what it all is supposed to
mean. Maybe something bawdy or risque.
The other side of the pitcher is decorated
with a depiction of the famous Benvenuto
Cellini Salt Cellar Saliera under the words
"why? hot"
Benvenuto Cellini Salt Cellar Saliera
depicted in black enamel over yellow enamel.
