A Vintage Delft Like Pottery Tile

Rooster Cockerel Coq Pottery Mark
The hand painted scene on the tile is
possibly a depiction of  The Parable
of  the Good Samaritan.
Measures 5 inches by 5 inches square.
The tile is marked on the back with an impressed
circular mark with a standing rooster (cockerel coq)
in the center. C F (for Charles Fourmaintraux) is
impressed on the left and right of the rooster. In an
arc over the rooster it reads: Marque de Fabrique.
Underneath the rooster it reads: Desvres
It is also marked 'FRANCE' handwritten
with fired on black glaze.
C F Marque de Fabrique Desvres France.
This tile shows a poor impression of the
rooster mark. It is pictured above, rubbed
with black pencil lead for better visibility.
Charles Fourmaintraux Pottery Tile.
Desvres, France. Circa 1900 - 1940s.
