learning in his father's jewelry shop in
Mexico City. He studied painting and
sculpture at the San Carlos Academy
of Art. He apprenticed and worked at
some important silver shops such as
those of William Spratling, Hector
Aguilar and Los Castillo.

In 1950 he opened his own shop,
Plateria Ledesma, in Taxco.
He died in 1979.

He is well known for simple, elegant,
modernist designs that achieve a
flawless marriage of silver and stone,
making the two mediums appear as one.
